Black Brotha...I love ya - Week! Post 5 - WE NEED YOU

Gentlemen
We don’t need you
Well, we don’t want to need you
But we do

See, you are an important, essential, requirement That is desired and needed for our lives
If it weren’t for you
We’d never be mothers
And we’d never be wives
When we birth men into this earth
Love, spirituality, morality, survival things
We can teach
But from a father to a son
There’s a place in the crevices of his mind
That’s connected to his heart
That only you can reach
A man I’ll never be
So how can I demonstrate what a real man is?
When a woman is all he’ll ever see
Our Girls need you to tell them that they’re beautiful
YOU take her out to eat
YOU buy her flowers
YOU tell her I love you
YOU give to her
YOU make it so that these things are not foreign to her
That way, some fool can’t come along
And try to use it to his benefit
But having a relationship with God
Showcasing good characters, morals and manners
Like Daddy
Will be the prerequisite
Our Girls need to see that
Our boys need to be that

We need you

Also, I know chivalry didn’t die
It was just ambushed by ego and pride and buried alive
This makes it still alive
So please
Don’t stop giving up your seat
Opening doors and pulling out chairs
Smiling at us
And speaking highly of us and
Showing us gentlemanship with care
Because I know you care
I also know that your compassion
Isn’t dead
Just ran off the road by indifference at times
Leaving selfish and greed
To take over instead

But when the world deconstructively depicted you
We picked on you
But we want you back and
To show I have your back I pray for you

Dear Father God,
Let the respect and admiration for women
Dedicated father love
Desire to aim high
Eagerness to be the best
Inability to influence by negativity
Healthy food eating
Kind word speaking
Bible living, reading, sharing and understanding
Non pants sagging
Resolution finding
Anti-anger developing
Education driven
Selflessness displaying
Sober and drug free living
Wisdom and intellectual instilment
Be produced without hesitation in the air
And let it spread extensively thru out all men
Like a contagious air-borne virus
Equally caught everywhere
We need you

First I want to say
I appreciate when you pick me up
For dinner and a movie
Converse with me
And not curse at me
Compliment me Return me home, walk me to my door
And kiss me on my cheek so gently
Without the intentions of coming inside
See, I’m trying to step away from being a
Feminist Nazi
And go back to the days when
Uplifting you and loving you unconditionally
Was a natural as the breath that flows inside of me

I want to step away from lying to myself that
Changing my own tire and taking out the trash
Is something I’m so proud to do all by myself because I don’t need a man
When really it’s becoming a pain in the Ask,
yourselves ladies
Do we want to go the rest of our lives without them?

Still Gentlemen we need you to love us for our minds, if you don’t mind
Focus more on the condition of our hearts
And less on the position of our panty lines
Although I know now-a-days
Sex technically grows on trees
But I’d like to be the only tree planted in your garden,
That produces sweet nourishment and healing
Unlike the forbidden ones
Who are too eager and too willing to
Let you pluck all of her apples and oranges
Sometimes well before they’ve even ripened
But I want to give you that well developed
Seed bearing fruit
But I need you to commit to watering me thoroughly
And the healthiness of my root and my branches
Will be apparent based on the way you’ve taken care of me

Besides, another woman just doesn’t cut it for me
As feminine and girly as I am I need true masculinity
Broad shoulders Strong manly arms
That can just take me and wrap me up in his space
His cheek to my cheek
That prickly five O’clock shadow
Rubbing all on my face
His hands like scotch bright
His voice like tenor
A sight of all natural God made Goodness making my heart tremor

We need you

For our men who love men
I will never look down on you
So many I’ve come to be friend
You’re still protected, blessed and loved
By God
Even if you’re just confused
Sometimes this comes from having been abused
 Leaving you bruised
Your manhood misused
It pains me to see you wallow in a deceit
That has you so amused and convinced that
Even if you were born this way
That this is a battle can’t be beat
But I pray and claim this explosiveness defused
There is a homosexual epidemic
That is so often excepted and excused
But tell me
What are we going to do?
When our ladies want to be mothers and wives
But we have nobody left to introduce them to.

Gentlemen, it was easy to write all the ways I feel like you have failed us
The difficulty was writing a few of the ways we have failed you,
Want you, think of you, desire you, pray for you, hope for you, believe in you
Need you?
One of the hardest things to say
But I’m willing and poetry is my way
I had to ambush my ego and pride
And bury them alive
But, we can’t do alone
We need you to help us replenish our faith in men
Remember when you asked God to send you someone like me
We need to go back to being how we used to be again.

And make a pact that no matter how
Crazy the world evolves or
How many wars are raging between the sexes
That between you and I we will always be protected
No matter how much we’re faced with opposition, disappointments and fear
That between you and me
We will never feel neglected We think we don’t need you
Sometimes we don’t need you
But in all actuality
We do.

Black Brotha...I love ya - Week! Post 4 - BLACK INVENTORS

Knowing our history is sooooo important. It does something miraculous to our spirit and subconscious mind when we know of people who are of our culture or ancestry who have done great things to change how man kind operates.

Below I've listed, not all but some of the great black inventors of time, whose inventions are still used today....over 100 years later. Freakin Awesome!

If they can use their minds and put it to great use then so can we. These gentlemen did not have technology as we do or many were slaves and really, their opportunity was pretty much non existent. They really had to fight to produce their ideas.

Many patents were stolen from them and other people took credit. Bare in mind a lot of inventions today came from Black men and women but someone else's name is on it. I'm not trying to go into that but we're a lot more mentally/creatively/ambitiously wealthy than we've been led to believe.

Figure out your purpose and make no excuse. Pray to God, meditate and ask that it is revealed to you....I PROMISE  it will come to you. What is it that you love to do? Make it happen! You got this boo!!!!  I believe in you all from the depths of my existence I do.

Elijah McCoy
(1843–1929)

He invented an oil-dripping cup for trains.

Other inventors tried to copy McCoy's oil-dripping cup. But none of the other cups worked as well as his, so customers started asking for "the real McCoy." That's where the expression comes from. ;) cool huh!

Lewis Latimer
(1848–1928)

He invented an important part of the light bulb — the carbon filament which made the light bulb last longer.

Latimer worked in the laboratories of both Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell.

Lewis had many interests. He was an inventor, draftsman, engineer, author, poet, musician, and, at the same time, a devoted family man and philanthropist.

George Washington Carver
(1860–1943)

He developed peanut butter and 400 plant products!

They said 400, not 1 or 2 or 10 or 50 ....400!! Whaaaat! You better go GWC!

Garrett Morgan
(1877–1963)

He invented the gas mask and the traffic signal
The traffic signal!! Thank you Garrett because some folks would not be able to do with out it. He simply observed an accident between a horse carriage and a car that ended in a tragedy....this inspired the idea. Traffic signals aren't going anywhere and have saved us, truly.

Otis Boykin
(1920–1982)

He invented the electronic control devices for guided missiles, IBM computers, and the pacemaker. <<< I mean REALLY!!!

Boykin invented 28 different electronic devices.

Charles Brooks

He designed the street sweeper wayyy back in 1896.

The street sweeper initially faced a lot of resentment from workers who felt they could do a better job. Eventually, as cities grew bigger and more and more litter accumulated, the street sweeper became indispensable until this day 2014 when I have to move my car to the other side of the street...yes Thanks Charles.

Black Brotha...I love ya - Week! Post 3 - YOU ARE BRILLIANT!

You are brilliant!

You're timeless!

There is magnificence inside of you that will magnify all symmetries of beauty no matter how small.

Once you embrace this truth...
Then you will asphyxiate this moisture deficient world like a you're a voluminous rainfall.

You are extraordinary!

God has planted in your souls seeds of royalty

You should walk around humbly and modestly like Kings who are sole heir to eminence.

Yes your blood bleeds red but what's rushing in your veins is liquid of divine luminance

You have been set apart, to be picked apart, so that you can teach the part, so that you can be a part of God's group of majestic mortals.

You are not of this world and so you mustn't fall for all it’s tragedies, all its temptations, all its pressures and material demons and sexual gestures.

You are a man of tactfulness, a man of choice, a man who is in control and you can not forget it, deny it, despise it or depart from it.

Do not be afraid of the immense abilities that has been instilled in you, allow God to craft you.

You are an impressionable being... like hand prints in cement from Hollywood stars, think red wine on white linen, think of graffiti etchings on a bus window.

You must know the truth, the truth is indisputable it will set you free.

The truth teaches you who you are and who you are meant to be.

Truth is the oldest and most powerful of all of the human values.

You are warriors, survivors...

Who better to coach our future generations in life’s preventative wreckage.

Who’s better to deliver life's survival methods

You've sailed the merciless seas and battled demonic pirates.

You've taken canon balls to the ego and swords to the heart.

You’ve walked the planks of our enemies

You’ve been ridiculed by the babbling parrot.

You've had your exterior judged by One Eye Willies

You’ve been victims of a manipulative Captain’s hook around our mind.

Just when it seemed that no one gave Jack about a sparrow, God’s eye was on you.

You, the sparrow.

Predators like to hunt and eat you

Little boys have been known to torment you.

Adults complain about how you procreate and consider your children pests.

Yet, Jesus said, "not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will"

The Sparrow

The need to be vigilant (watching out for danger), hustling for food (Working), building his nests (paying his bills), and gathering for the young (providing food/clothes), protecting his fleet (family).

The sparrow

So insignificant were these little birds.

But God watched with a protective eye.

Why should you feel discouraged?

Why should your hearts be lonely?

In his eye none of you are insignificant.

*Now if God is sooo concerned about the tiny, itty bitty, little worthless sparrow so much that he notes its fate ... Then how much greater must his concern be for you, who is immeasurably greater in value than the sparrow!

Black Brotha...I love ya - Week! Post 2 - HE IS BEAUTIFUL!

Today I am going to take you by the shoulders, pull you close to my heart and embrace you in my spirit with all of my tenderness, my love and my care.

I am going to hold you until the hands of my heart wraps itself around the madness that's stored in your mind and strangle everything that has ever hindered you from prevailing in life as a successful, intelligent, loving and fabulous person.

The hands of my heart will cut off the oxygen of all the negative words that have been given life and it will suffocate until it dies and the only thing living is positivity. Negativity will be a distant memory, memorable only as a reference to what used to be and what will never be again.

When I see you walking down the street, when I'm lying in my bed, when I'm sitting in a restaurant, when I'm driving down the street...where ever I may be I will say a prayer for you
"God help him to see... make him see that he is exceptional and he is meant to be"
"God free him from the confines of the negativity and make him see, he is sensational and he is meant to be" ....

Today I will remind you of what a beautiful creature you are as I scan over your stance in comedic gestures or your demeanor when speaking of your passions and complaints. I can see it...Your freedom, your innocence and your victory.

I see it thru eyes of love and compassion. Compassion means to feel with, to suffer with, to love with... I see you, all of you, the whole of you, you beneath the you that is displayed and dominant, that may not be as beautiful.

He comes in all different heights and widths, shades of brown, textures of hair, senses of humor, big smiles, little smile, warm smiles, half smiles.... and he is beautiful...bearded and bare, goatee and moustache, suits and sneakers, basketball shorts and briefs, boxers and tie clips, wedding bands and wrist bands, barotones and tenors, shy and suave, leaders and assistance, humble and introverted, militant and meek....I see you, I see all of you, the whole of you, the you beneath the you that is misjudged.

Does he know how beautiful he is, I mean REALLY know?

I use the word beautiful because beauty is some thing or someone who pleases the senses or mind aesthetically. Yes Lawwwd ahem...we see you!

You do that, You got that, You are that. "God make him see, that he is significant and he is meant to be"...

"God make him see that his mirror only captures the outer and is never a reflection of what's internally"

*He is beautiful
