What I find really sexy about men!

SEXY MAN

HANDS - Clean, SHORT Clean nails, somewhat soft looking, a little TLC goes a long way.

GRAY HAIRED MEN - I don't know what it is, but it's sooo attractive.
Perhaps it's a reflection of age, which could be wisdom...idk.
It's Sexy!

BRACES -  Especially if you're over 30...it's so HOT!!

HANDS on the FACE KISS - Do that every single time, it's romantic, it's endearing, it's just sexy! You should never not do that.
SCRUFF! - I love a scruffy man. But, wait but there needs to be a bit of grooming with the scruff. Don't just let it sprout weeds.

TALL MEN - For some reason, just because you're tall I still find you HOT. Then I have to come back to reality and say "Girl....He is only height!"  LOL

CLEAN SNEAKERS - You could be like on some I just rolled out of bed or I'm working on the car today outfit but if you have on a fresh pair of sneakers, SEXY! Then I'm like "the lounge look is intentional." I never had a boyfriend who didn't wear fresh kicks, ever.

FRESH OUT OF THE SHOWER SMELL - I'm not huge on cologne and men smother themselves with it and in my mind I'm just like "Dayyyyuumm" Sinuses start acting up. Not this girl. I'd rather you smell like soap. Don't get me wrong, Cologne still does something to me but I prefer soapy.

CONSCIOUS MEN - This should be first, however this isn't in sequential order. I saw THIS clip (just one of many)and was brought to my feet. What if all men were like that....what if all black men (not necessarily thinks the same but is strong in his speech and thoughts). Ooooh!! 100% FIRE! SEXY! I think MX represent what a conscious man is, he has strong beliefs and understanding of life, he cares about his people and his drive is incredible and he is never apologetic for fighting for what he believes in. He speaks well,he reads books, he's educated (self or schooling) and not easily led astray. being conscious often times create discipline and respect for self and others and their woman, women in general and rules out weaknesses. He cares about how he represents himself. When a man offers enlightenment and starts dropping profoundness and knowledge....I'm instantly in heaven. THE BEST THING EVER!!

FUNNY/SILLY - What's better than a sense of humor? What's better than a man making me ROFLMBO???? I love laughing and a funny man appears differently in my eyes almost all the time from the initial impression.

GLASSES - NERD ALERT!!  I love hipsterish, nerdish, library-going, book -toting kind of guys.... looking the part is what makes it SEXY!!!

My Boy Thay - Praying for him!

Thich Nhat Hanh

What a blessed soul. His book has changed my life in so many ways and on so many levels.

He is currently facing an illness and is getting very old. He had a brain hemorrhage and is under doctors care. I send forth my love and energy of healing and pray for his full recovery.

He has touched and changed so many lives and perhaps we have to accept that one day his time will come as shall all of ours and his work here on this earth was nothing short of wonderful and I will always remember him for that.

Kool and the Gang

So I spent nearly a month trying to figure out this song. I heard it on the radio and I was jamming to it.

However, by the time I got home I had forgotten the words to look it up.
All I could remember was "You're the one, the one for me..." that was it...nothing. I didn't know the group name, if they were black, the era, not one single other word.
I would sing it to my peeps and nobody else could figure it out either.
Tho, highly frustrated, I was determined to find out what this song was.
So one day I was all in the KTG mix and one song kinda sounded similar to the one that I was looking for and there was that light bulb! Ahhhhh! It was Joanna.
Anyway, they are my favorite group right now. This changes but for now it's KTG time.

Orange is the new Black

I absolutely like this show, however I'm over the Girl on Girl sex scenes and kissing. I am a severely heterosexual woman and there's only so much I can take. I liked the show for its creativity and dialogue. The prison life can be very interesting and those are the most innovative people I know. They make nothing into something and they find ways around the prohibited. I'm an artist so this fascinates me but I'm not feeling it anymore, I guess, (shruggs) that is to be expected women falling for women because all the men are guards and they are not to be touched, although that rule has been broken, whatever, it's a show about women in prison. ~Bummed out

How can I be nice to you today??

How can I be nice to you today? I heard an author say this on Oprah. It caught my attention and I love the way it sounds, so much that it inspired me to write this blog.

My single hood seems to be on-going and at times I feel like it will never end but then something happens and somehow I believe again.

With having a steady person of interest in my life, I come across areas of relationshipness that I want to work on.

I have spent the last 2 years working on myself. I made a promised that I would not commit or allow someone else to commit to me if I wasn't a whole and conscious woman nor will accept that from someone else.

What benefit would I be if I werestill harboring fear from previous relationships gone wrong, mistakes I've made, they've made and not practicing the art of forgiveness? Not very beneficial at all. I'm still wonderful in essence but I needed work and I'm never going to be perfect but I know I will make a fantastic life partner.

I have so much to offer, I astound myself. I'm rooting for the person who wins my heart because it's really a very special place to be and I want to wake up and say, how can I be nice to you today when I'm pissed off at him for something he did or when the flame dies down and you have to put forth effort and do those things you don't want to do... or how about, HATE doing. LOL

The errors of my ways lies in my wanting to give up when someone did not measure up or when they didn't show promise right away. Yes that's how I've been til this very day, but I've made a decision to not do that. I've been accepting and non-judgmental in so many areas, I think I can conquer this. I have an issue with someone who is WASTING MY TIME. I guess it's a fear or I can chalk it up to just not liking it. Don't waste my time.

I actually enjoy the process of getting to know someone and taking our time, it's so fun and beautiful. Learning the things about them that didn't come with a question. Sharing life stories, eating good food, walking around, going bike riding, sitting in the house in the dark lying on the floor with your legs intertwined, and the only light is the moon light and street lights shining through the window... listening to music and not saying anything and every now and then a kiss on the shoulder or hand or cheek or where ever is placed, running your fingers across his head, just some romantic gestures and things that are precious. I know I'm going a little off subject but that creates a physical connection that doesn't always involve sex. Sex, that's easy and can be done with anyone, anywhere, at anytime... but you can't reach down into the depths of someone and feel their love and connect with their inner peace, embrace their spirit.

To have some one who gets it and who is just as willing to get it right... meaning whose list of goals for the day has "How can I be nice to her/him today?"  ..... MAN! that's priceless.

How I see me may not be how you see me...

I have been on the natural hair journey for the past 4 years and finally all of the relaxer is gone, never to return.

When I say natural, I mean without chemicals, perms/relaxers, but using organic and real natural ingredients. I still wear braids and I will wear a weave, but my real hair is natural and actually more healthier.

My natural hair has indeed been a challenge. I was so used to straight hair, easy to comb thru, washing it took like 10 minutes...NOW... no I have come to terms that, that isn't how my hair works and I'm okay with that.

Washing: Literally takes me about 30 - 45 minutes and I have to do it in the shower. I have to part my hair in sections of 4-6 to prevent a massive tangling situation.

THIS IS NOT ME >>>

Drying: Same thing....or I've let it air dry before.

Since I'm new to the natural hair world, I don't have a style that I like yet so I just press it out, grease it up. My hair is a thirst bucket for oil and stuff, it will suck every bit until it's dry.

I'll just throw it in a ponytail, claw or a braid. Oh yeah, if there's a hint of moisture in the air...the press out is gone.

Ever heard of "Shrinkage"...yes I have that. My hair is very kinky and can be course if I slack on my oiling it... that's when your hair does this (below). When it's wet and then dried, it's short but when you straighten it out, it's almost 75% longer than it's actual length. DO NOT be deceived by Shrinkage.

I have to say that going natural is the most liberating thing I've ever done for my appearance, for my pride, for my health, my self worth. It feel's good not to conform. I feel much more beautiful being myself and there are women who are in the same boat and we love who we are.

I do highly encourage women to put down the creamy crack, yes it makes our hair manageable, but it strips it of it's natural oils and protein (That's Not Good) I know, I did it for almost 20 years + it's not good for your health.  I did holistic research for many years and honestly if you can't eat it, it doesn't belong on your skin/ scalp/hair....IJS. That's in another life time for many people. You can use natural products that are much more healthier.

* Love this: I wish you could see your beauty from my view....it's breathtaking.
